Implementation

Forest School at Hardwicke Parochial Primary Academy is delivered on a dedicated on-site area, purposefully developed to support outdoor, nature-based learning. All year groups across the school will have regular access to Forest School sessions, ensuring that every learner benefits from this unique aspect of the curriculum throughout their primary years. Sessions follow a learner-led approach, with activities planned in response to the interests, needs, and developmental stages of the children. Learners will participate in practical, engaging experiences such as tree climbing, using tools, and fire lighting, all within a carefully risk-assessed environment. These activities are designed to encourage children to assess and manage risk safely. Additionally, learners will be taught to consider their environmental impact, promoting a sense of responsibility and care for the natural world. This inclusive approach ensures that Forest School is accessible and meaningful for all children, regardless of ability or background.
